Ministries

Children

Our children’s ministry is for infants through fifth grade.

Sunday School from 9:30-10:30 AM has classes for kids starting at age three through fifth grade (plus nursery care for little ones).

Events – At St. Michael, our children’s ministry isn’t limited to Sundays. Kids join in special activities during church-wide events and fun pop-up gatherings throughout the year, growing in faith and friendships as part of God’s family. Please use this up close picture called “Kid Sand Art on Palm Sunday 4” instead of kids painting.

Camp Moosefeather Falls VBS: Campers dive into Bible truths, explore creative cabins like cooking or messy fun, and make lasting memories with new friends. With Kodi the Bear and Beez the Bee leading the way, kids will discover Jesus’ love goes with them anywhere. Please replace the slime picture to the “VBS Slime Pour Up Close”

Ignite 345: Our youth group for third–fifth graders gathers Wednesdays from 6:00–8:00 PM for dinner, Bible study, games, and service projects—igniting a spark to shine Jesus’ light wherever they go. Add the pic of “345 Little Jesus”

First Communion Class: Students in fourth and fifth grade are invited to attend the first Communion class alongside a parent. Students learn about the meaning of Communion and prepare for this important sacrament. They will take the time to create a chalice that they will use for their very own first Communion. Family

Family Ministry at St. Michael celebrates that we are all part of God’s family—no matter what our households look like. Families of all kinds are invited to grow in faith together, connect with one another, and build lasting memories through special events held throughout the year. From hands-on gatherings like the Gingerbread Bash to creative times like Family LEGO Night, each event is designed to strengthen relationships, encourage faith conversations, and remind us that following Jesus is something we do best—together.

Youth

Middle School

  • Our Middle School Youth Group is a place where 6th–8th graders grow in faith, build friendships, and have fun together!
  • Each Sunday 9:30-10:30 AM, our middle schoolers (6th–8th grade) gather for a time of learning and growing together in God’s Word. Through conversation, reflection, and practical lessons, students discover how faith connects with everyday life. Sunday School is a space to ask questions, share experiences, and deepen both faith and friendships.
  • Middle School Wednesday Nights – Every Wednesday evening, our middle schoolers (6th–8th grade) gather for a time of faith, food, and fun! We start with a shared dinner—a chance to relax and connect with friends. Then we move into devotions, where we dig into God’s Word in ways that speak to everyday life as a middle schooler. Finally, the night wraps up with high-energy games and activities that build friendships and remind us that following Jesus is both meaningful and fun. Wednesday nights are the highlight of the week—a space where students grow in faith and community together.
  • In the Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod, confirmation is a period of instruction in the Christian faith, preparing students to publicly confess their faith and affirm the promises made in baptism. It’s a time of learning, growing and being nurtured in God’s Word and the Lutheran confessions. Confirmation at St. Michael is open to students entering sixth grade and older. Modules are led by our church and called school staff on select Saturday or Sunday afternoons about monthly, and lunch is always provided. After each module, students will be assigned a project that helps them reflect on and apply what they’ve learned. When a student completes all six modules, they will be ready to be confirmed. Families decide if they want to do it all in one year or space it out over a few.
  • Throughout the year, students take part in exciting events like the Middle School Youth Gathering, where hundreds of Lutheran youth join for worship and high-energy activities, and the Camp Luther Springs Servant Event, where they serve others and experience God’s creation. Along with these special events, we gather for fellowship, Bible study, and opportunities to live out our faith as young disciples of Jesus.

High School

  • Our High School Youth Group is a community where 9th–12th graders can grow deeper in their faith, build strong friendships, and live out their identity in Christ.
  • Sunday mornings 9:30-10:30 AM, our high schoolers (9th–12th grade) gather to learn, grow, and dig deeper into God’s Word. Through thoughtful conversation, meaningful reflection, and practical lessons, students explore how faith shapes everyday life. Sunday School is a welcoming space to ask honest questions, share experiences, and strengthen both faith and friendships.
  • Wednesday evenings, 9th–12th graders come together for a night of faith, food, and real conversation. We begin with dinner—a time to slow down and connect after a busy day. Then we dive into devotions, exploring God’s Word in ways that speak to the unique challenges and opportunities of high school life. The evening closes with activities and hangout time that strengthen friendships and remind us that following Jesus is both meaningful and life-giving. Wednesday nights are a midweek reset—a space for high school students to grow deeper in faith and community.
  • High Schoolers also have opportunities for unforgettable experiences—like the LCMS Youth Gathering, where thousands of Lutheran teens from across the world come together for worship, learning, and fun. Whether serving locally or traveling for life-changing events, our students are encouraged to follow Jesus boldly and support one another as they walk through these important years.

Adults

Adult Sunday & Weekly Bible Studies

  • Join us for engaging studies—whether focused on books of the Bible or relevant life topics—led by our pastors, Directors of Christian Education (DCEs), and trained lay leaders. Together we explore God’s Word, grow in faith, and build community.
  • Studies are offered on Sunday mornings as well as throughout the week, providing opportunities for fellowship and learning no matter your schedule.

Specialty Support Groups at St. Michael

At St. Michael, we offer two specialty classes—GriefShare and DivorceCare—designed to bring healing and hope during some of life’s most difficult seasons.

  • DivorceCare is a 13-week, video-based series that has helped more than 1 million people worldwide find comfort, encouragement, and a path toward healing after separation or divorce. At St. Michael, DivorceCare is offered in a hybrid format—both in person and online—so you can connect in the way that best fits your needs.
  • GriefShare is a safe, welcoming place where people understand the difficult emotions of losing a loved one—whether a spouse, parent, child (infant, teen, adult, or unborn), sibling, friend, coworker, or other relative. In this 13-week, video-based group, you’ll learn what’s “normal” in grief, what to expect in the days ahead, and how to begin finding hope and healing.
  • 2W Club is a group of widow and widowers who come together about twice a month for activities on our campus as well as outings around SWFL. Any person who has lost a spouse is welcome whether they are a member or not.

Women’s Ministry

  • As Lutheran Women in Mission, we joyfully proclaim Christ, support missions, and equip women to honor God by serving others. This group meets monthly to study God’s Word, enjoy fellowship, and raise funds—through mite box collections and special projects—that provide scholarships for future church workers and support mission efforts around the world.
  • Ladies at the Table ministry is designed for adult women of all ages to gather around a table monthly to share meals, enjoy crafts and build meaningful fellowship rooted in Christ and His Word. Our vision is simple: “Feeding hearts, hands, and souls in Christ.”
  • Women’s Bible Studies take place throughout the week—on various days and at different times—for women to gather, study God’s Word, and grow together in faith and fellowship.

Men’s Ministry

  • Several men’s Bible studies take place throughout the week—some on weekends, some in the evenings, and others during the day—providing opportunities for men to study God’s Word, grow in faith, and build fellowship together.

Adult Fellowship events

  • Adults of all ages are encouraged to connect and build friendships through a variety of fellowship activities hosted by St. Michael—both on campus and at fun venues throughout Southwest Florida. These gatherings provide a wonderful way to relax, enjoy community, and grow together outside of regular worship and study times.

Senior Adults

Everyone 55 and older is welcome at all adult events, but we also offer monthly activities designed especially for our senior adults to connect, grow, and serve together—both on campus and out in the community. Whether it’s enjoying a movie, play, concert, game night, or tour of a local agency—or serving alongside a local nonprofit—there’s something for everyone. Single, divorced, widowed, or married; still working, newly retired, or moving at a slower pace—you’ll find meaningful opportunities to belong, build friendships, and share Christ’s love.
